Five of our Favourite Motocross Tracks in WA
Western Australia is fortunate to be gifted with a number of unique, challenging and picturesque motocross circuits that see riders travel all across the state in order to experience such venues. Known for its sandy circuits, there’s plenty of them that made their way into this latest blog post, where we list five of our favourite public tracks.
5. AJS Motorcycle Club

Host of the Motul MX Nationals in Western Australia over the last decade, the AJS circuit in Wanneroo is regarded as one of the most brutal and challenging sand tracks in the country, if not the world. When it’s smooth, it’s fast and free flowing, however when it’s lined with waist-high whoops, it becomes an energy-sapping and demanding affair that pushes even the most talented riders to their limits. The brutal nature of the track just adds to circuit’s character, making it one of the best circuits to witness motorcycle racing.

A four-hour plus journey north of Perth is Geraldton’s highly-regarded motocross facility that boasts some of the richest dirt in the state. The venue has an enjoyable and exciting layout, with a number of fast sections, and just as many tight ones to keep everyone in check. It’s even better for fans, who get to experience premium viewing around the entirety of the circuit, which has always served up some thrillers in its major events over recent years.

A popular circuit on everyone’s yearly campaigns, Bunbury sits as the centre of motocross in the southwest of Western Australia. The track has a fantastic layout that invites close, intense racing, and once the day approaches the pointy-end, it really does sort out the toughest of riders. A selection of sizeable jumps and epics turns are just some of the highlights for the well-credentialed venue, which hosts both junior and senior state rounds yearly.

2. Collie Motorcycle Club

Located next to the stunning Stockton Lake, Collie is an all-year favourite. Particularly during the summer, it lends itself to both on and off the bike fun, as many flock to the south-western track to punch out laps, before hitting up the lake and camping overnight. There’s just something special about this place, and I think it’s a combination of its location, layout, surface and surrounding facilities that make it so inviting.

Situated in Western Australia’s beautiful southwest sits Manjimup’s Cosy Creek circuit, home of the 1992 Motocross of Nations and the ever-running 15,000 event, which thousands of people travel to annually. Not only does Manjimup sit amongst the tall and picturesque timber trees, the circuit lends itself to being one of the most technical and demanding, yet enjoyable tracks in the world. Its mixture of clay, sand and natural up and down hill sections tests all riders, who continue to return to the venue time after time, year after year, with excitement and anticipation.
