The WR250F is a rider-friendly weapon that's light and slim with a low center of gravity for sharp handling through tight turns with a more confidence-inspiring, planted feel.

The YZ250F-type cylinder head features a wide intake port and high-performance exhaust camshaft that give rapid mid to top-end performance while retaining the WR250F's strong low-rpm torque. And with three-level Traction Control, the WR250F offers an exceptional level of control.

Note that Australian WRF models are all supplied in full ADR spec to allow full road registration including indicators, mirrors and horn. A free Off-Road Kit designed for closed course competition use is supplied with each bike. The kit includes brushguards, front fender and lightweight rear light and tail section.

FEATURES

Optimised Ergonomics

Optimised Ergonomics

Compact bodywork with narrow shrouds, flat seat and slim fuel tank make moving around on the bike easier. Tapered aluminum handlebars are secured to four-position adjustable handlebar mounts, while wide 55mm foot pegs provide additional control and comfort.

Aluminium bilateral beam frame

Aluminium bilateral beam frame

The bilateral beam frame has been developed with rider feedback to ensure a rigidity balance for excellent handling, turning and impact absorption.

High performance engine

High performance engine

The compact, powerful 250cc four-stroke engine is developed from the class-dominating YZ250F, then tuned for enduro. New for 2026, an industry-first ECU lock function prevents theft and unauthorised engine start-up via a password-required lock.

Engine map switch

Engine map switch

The left handlebar-mounted switchgear allows the rider to quickly select between preloaded engine maps—loaded and configured in the Power Tuner App—to adjust for changing riding conditions. Map 1 provides more responsive, quicker revving engine characteristics while Map 2 provides smoother response and slower revving characteristics for when traction is limited.

Free flow air filter

Free flow air filter

A airflow management system allows clean air to enter from different positions such as the shrouds, tank and seat. A lightweight airbox combines with a rounded air filter for increased airflow. The air intake system, airbox and filter reduce weight and contribute to engine performance, linear power delivery and rideability.

Smartphone tuning

Smartphone tuning

The free-of-charge Yamaha Power Tuner App brings the power of the GYTR® Power Tuner to an iOS® or Android® device, allowing owners to adjust air/fuel mixture and ignition timing, log race set-up information, and monitor a range of data such as maintenance and system diagnosis, engine run time, and more. The newest version of the app has been revised to be more user-friendly, with new features include an intuitive Simple Tuning slide bar for engine mapping, Traction Control tuning, lap timer, and helpful engine and suspension tuning guides.

Compact instrument display

Compact instrument display

WR250F includes a multi-function display featuring a speedometer, trip information and convenient low fuel and engine warning indicators.

Light rear hub

Light rear hub

A light rear wheel hub is specified to save weight with the axle diameter measuring 25mm for added strength. Strong, lightweight wheels reduce unsprung weight without sacrificing durability. Together with the light rear wheel hub, the rear end offers great handling and feedback from the surface for a supreme ride experience.

Industry leading front and rear suspension

Industry leading front and rear suspension

Progressive travel 300mm forks are optimised for off-road performance and contribute to a lower centre of gravity. The spring rate and damping gain model-specific settings and the compression damping adjustments can now be changed by hand.
